EDC with Spyderco and Streamlight

This week’s Everyday carry theme is the color Orange! I’ve really had a thing for all things orange over the past six months or so. I’m thinking of it as my Vitamin C period. I like it more as an accent color as it’s such a strong color, so I wouldn’t buy an all orange hoodie or an orange car but I would buy them with orange accents.

Starting from the top, it’s my Samsung Galaxy Note with a cheap Chinese cell phone cover from eBay. It doesn’t seem to matter if I buy good quality phone covers or cheap and nasty, they all seem to last about the same amount of time (6 months). So I usually just buy whatever. I don’t have any favorites as I’ve never really liked any!

Next on the list is the orange Streamlight Stylus Pro Penlight with about 100 Lumens. Mine’s in orange as I have a theme to stick to, but I believe the Stylus Pro also comes in red, silver, black, blue, and camo. I’ve used and abused mine for more than 12 months and I’m still happy with it.

Second from the bottom on today’s EDC gear is the Fisher Space Pen Tough Touch pen and stylus in Orange! I never really use the stylus function but it can be used for touch screens on cell phones and tablets. I usually just use a pen as a pen.. and it works, writes things, so I’m happy with it 😉

Last but not least is a folding knife that’s probably not as popular as it should be. I can understand why it’s not super popular but I really do like carrying it. The Spyderco Firefly is a collaboration with custom knife maker Peter Carey. It’s a small folder with VG10 steel, polished G10 handles with carbon fiber bolsters, and it’s made in Japan. I think if they upgraded the steel slightly and decreased the price a little it would have been much more popular. I love my Firefly though and won’t be selling it anytime soon.

    Awesome size, super light, easy to make stupid-sharp. Has kicked all of my other EDCs out of rotation, great great knife.

    • Yeah I love the Spyderco Dragonfly 2 too.
      So small and light but still a very functional knife.
      I did have a yellow Salt version with the H1 blade here with me but I lost it. They’re pretty cool too.
      I think I still own the Zome model and Wharncliffe blade Dragonflys back home. Still in Istanbul so I can’t get them out to play with 🙁
