I figured I should do a definition of what Directness is. People sometimes find themselves on this website looking for the meaning of directness but all they find is knife reviews, EDC photographs and news on knives.
So this page is for the people who want the dictionary definition of the word and then below that I’ll try to explain why I decided to use the directness.com domain name for a knife review website.

To speak directly or explain something directly is to talk without unnecessary details, niceties or vagueness. It’s to get to the point even if that point is pointy and hurts.

So Why Directness.com
Firstly the domain name was available, obviously, otherwise I couldn’t have paid large amounts of money to buy it. It’s a dictionary word dot com domain name and owners of almost any dictionary word domains have ridiculous prices on them when selling them.
I’ve owned the domain for many years now, just sitting on it, waiting for a purpose for it. When I closed my knife shop down to go and spend some time in another country I found myself wanting to do something with knives and EDC gear again. I couldn’t continue to sell knives in the other country as I didn’t know the language. So I decided to start a knife review website and I immediately knew what it would be called! Directness! Directness.com!
The definition and meaning of the word describes what a review site should be: to say what you think about the knife without worrying about what the maker of that knife thinks or the fanboys of the knife brand that you are reviewing. In short, to be honest. If it’s a good knife, say it, if it’s a bad knife, say it.
And that’s the dictionary meaning of the word directness and my explanation of why I chose the directness.com domain name. 😁🔪
