The comment moderation policy on the Directness reviews website is to ensure a friendly environment for all to discuss the knives and EDC gear that is being reviewed.
Things Not Tolerated
I might swear like a drunken sailor with my knife buddies in private but this is an open, public platform where people from all backgrounds are encouraged to participate in. So, no swearing, foul or offensive language at all.
No personal attacks, discrimination, name calling, bullying or putting others down.
No unsubstantiated rumors, gossip, or inferences of wrong doing by a company or individual, especially if it’s not directly related to the item being reviewed.
This is not the place to wage your personal vendettas against a company, knife maker, group, or individual.
Leave your politics at the door. Unless I’m reviewing a political knife then there’s no need to be discussing politics. Go turn your TV back on if you feel you need a drama fix.
Anything that could get me in trouble legally will be removed.
Things that are Encouraged
Constructive criticism of the knife or gear being reviewed is definitely encouraged. I’ll never delete a comment just because it disagrees with something I said in a review.
You can be polite and have strong opinions that differ from mine. Don’t use filthy language and then cry about your comments being censored.
If you love a knife or the everyday carry gear being reviewed then explain why. People are here because they’re interested in a product and may be thinking about buying it. Any real world information you can help with may help them with their decision to buy or not to buy.
There’s a place for your name and website when commenting. Use those instead of putting links in the actual comment. Most comments with links in them are automatically deleted as 99.9 percent of them are spam.
Feel free to suggest a better product than the one I am reviewing. I might even review it if I haven’t already. Just mention it by name though as I may not see the comment if it has a link it.
Just be nice. Is that so hard? Pretend we’re at your grandmother’s place and she hates swearing and drama mamas. Don’t make her hit you with her Cold Steel pistol grip city stick!
If I have missed a troubling comment and you’re offended by it, just let me know and I’ll have a look at it.
