Botw is one of the oldest web directories on the Internet, starting it's life as a list where visitors could vote for their favorite sites online. For being such an old and established directory, it did have surprisingly few websites listed, but the owners have employed a team of editors to browse the Internet and fill their categories.

  Best of the web is a bit like old wine.. expensive, good to talk about it's vintage, but a $30 bottle probably tastes just as good.. It's probably one of the oldest web directories on the Internet, but it still send little to no traffic each month, just like any established $20 directory.
  It's hard to be too critical of Botw though, apart from the ANNUAL fee to be listed. It's a quality directory, easily one of the top 10 best directories online, so they're asking for a brand premium.. which is what any good business would do. (look at how much the Yahoo directory charges!.. and they send just as much traffic as almost any other directory online).
  They're also filling out the categories, making it useful to not just webmasters submitting websites, but also Internet users looking for websites. If you value your site, the fee is a small price to pay.. even if that once off fee looks STEEP!.
